Our Golden Threads
At OPA we have identified core values which reflect the beliefs and aspirations we have for our children, staff and families. They make up “the golden thread” that runs through everything we do. We refer to these as 6 Cs and you will see them evidenced in our ethos, our curriculum, our approach to learning for all and in our daily practices. Members of Team Oxley are awarded a “Golden Thread Award” to celebrate that they consistently live these values and acts as role models, showcasing them to others .
Our 6 Cs are:
Courageous - We want our children to be courageous; to try new things; to take risks; to see failure as a step to success and develop a growth mindset.
Courteous - We want our children to be courteous; to be well-mannered; to be respectful; to take turns; to listen and learn from others.
Caring - We want our children to be caring individuals; to care for each other; their environment and themselves; to have a social conscience and know that their care can make a difference.
Conscientious - We want our children to be conscientious; to work hard; to do their best at all times; to persist when things are challenging; to aim high and keep striving onward and upwards; to realise that potential is exponential.
Co-operative - We want our children to be co-operative; to be good team members; to understand why there is a need for rules and protocols and which occasions it is appropriate to follow these rules and when it is good to challenge them!
Curious - We want our children to be curious; to want to know more; to experiment; to explore; to use use their imagination; to dream and pursue these dreams; to think outside the box; to believe there is no box!
