At Oxley Park Academy we aim to provide a rich and engaging computing curriculum to help inspire and motivate our children in the field of computer technology. We aim for computing to be taught in a cross curricular way as well as children having access to discrete computing lesson to improve their computing literacy.
Each campus has access to a whole class suite of computers which children will use to word process, code and explore online safety amongst other things. There will also be a range of iPads which children will have continuous access to.
Throughout Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children will learn skills across a range of topics including coding and programming their own games and apps! Children will also improve and develop their computer life skills including word processing, data handling and editing pictures.
The most important aspect of computing at Oxley Park Academy is online safety. With children having more and more access to online content we must provide them with robust and rigorous teaching about the dangers they could face online and what they can do to protect themselves online and avoid such dangers.
Keep an eye out for Safer Internet Day 2019 which we will be celebrating throughout school!
