Year 6 Maths Tutoring every Wednesday - 2.00pm - 3.10pm 


For the next two weeks, Year 6 will be learning how to write a letter of complaint. They will be focussing on the use of higher level punctuation - parenthesis, colons, semi-colons, single dashes and hyphens.


  • apostrophes for contraction - spelling the contract correctly 
  • conjunctions - coordinating and subordinating
  • subjunctive verb forms
  • active and passive voice
  • semi-colons


Mr Burden - adding and subtracting mixed fractions

Miss Price - ratio and proportion, volume

Mr Wieremiej - interpreting data, mean, mode and median


Practice papers - focusing on patterns

 In the afternoons we will continue:

  • Practising our problem solving and reasoning skills in Maths - working as teams to identify the problem and different strategies to solve them
  • Reading comprehension skills - working together to identify how to effectively answer 2 and 3 mark questions
  • SPAG - targeting gaps in our learning 
  • Art - art skills to develop our presentation skills and part of our relaxation strategies
  • Relax Kids - every other week (alternated on each campus) the children will develop relaxation techniques with Mrs Robinson
  • Science - Evolution and Inheritance



Year 6 will set every Thursday to be handed in by the following Wednesday due to the amount set:

  • SPAG.com
  • TT rockstars - practice rapid recall of multiplication facts
  • Spelling - patterns sent to consolidate learning that week - no formal weekly test
  • Maths set homework - multiplication and work to consolidate learning that week
  • Reading expectations - 30 mins 5x a week
