Can I make changes to my hours?

We will always endeavour to cater for any requests to change of hours or days.   These will need to be submitted to our Shenley Wood Admin Centre at least two weeks before the end of any term.  If we have space and we are able to cater for the requested changes, these will be implemented from the start of the following term.

What if I need to leave the Nursery?

In order to leave the Nursery, you will need to ensure you give us 4 weeks' notice.

Can our child attend before and after-school club?

Yes they can!   Premier Education is our provider for our Ziggy Before and After School care.   This provision is based at our Shenley Wood campus and children can attend during the following hours:

Before school:

  • 7.30am to 8.30am

After school:

  • 3.00pm to 6.00pm

Breakfast and evening snack is provided during these sessions.   A wide range of activities are provided and our provider is Ofsted registered.   For bookings and further information please contact our Academy Admin Centre.   A booking app will be open nearer to September.

Claiming Free sessions through the 30-Hour Codes

30 Hour Codes are valid for three months and have to be renewed continually.   This is your responsibility as a parent or carer.  Please understand the academy will not be able to claim funding if these are not renewed.  If this is the case, this will result in sessions being billed to you.

Can I pay for the Nursery using childcare vouchers?  Who do I contact if I have any finance queries?
Yes, you can. If you require any further information or require any help checking 30-hour eligibility please contact our Academy Admin Centre, nursery@oxleyparkacademy.com for further information.

Attendance

Being a member of our wonderful village is being part of our school family.   We all follow the same values and expectations.  Although children are under statutory school age, we do expect them to fully attend their allocated sessions.  If your child's attendance falls below 63%, as calculated over the course of a term, this will impact financially for the academy.  Therefore, allocated sessions will be payable by parents/carers.   The academy will write to parents/carers if it is noted that absence is slipping towards this figure.

What do I do if my child is genuinely sick and can't attend nursery?

Please call the Academy absence line on 01908 506899 by 8.15am.  When leaving a message, please make sure you say your child's name really clearly.  Make sure we know the reason for their absence.  Thank you in advance.  If your child has an upset tummy or sickness, they should return no sooner than 48 hours after showing the last symptoms.

Further Frequently Asked Questions:

How are medicines administered?
Medicines can only be administered if a medicine form has been completed. However, if your child suffers from an ongoing medical condition that requires medicines e.g. Asthma, and is using an inhaler, it is of course expected that you bring this into Nursery and a member of our Academy Admin Team will liaise with you regarding a health care plan.

What things should I tell the Nursery Village staff?
Please let us know if your child has any allergies or medical conditions. We should be aware of anything your child really doesn’t like. If your child is going to be absent from Nursery or going on holiday, or your child has been affected by a change in family circumstances, please let us know. It will help us to be sensitive to your child’s moods and feelings. We would really prefer that toys are left at home, however, if your child absolutely will not come to Nursery without a favourite toy, we will put it safely in the cupboard so that it does not get broken or lost.
