  • Author visit to OPA

    Fri 09 Jun 2023

OPA had a FAB and an exciting week of reading this week.  On Thursday, 8 June 2023, the children in Years 4-6 were lucky enough to be visited by author Joel Arcanjo who spoke all about his book 'Crookhaven'.  The children loved finding out about his exciting series of books and even helped to come up with the idea that might  feature in his next book!

On Friday, 9 June 2023, our Year 1 and 2 children were joined by Paula Harrison.  Paula told the children all about her new book series 'Fairytale Ninjas'.  They loved hearing all about the books and all the characters who feature in them.

A FAB-tastic time was had by all!

  • Art Gallery at Oxley Park Academy

    Thu 08 Jun 2023

We ended Summer 1 term with our very own art gallery! The gallery showcased a range of artwork created during Art Week, all linked to the King's Coronation. From Nursery to Year 6, children used various painting techniques to create stamps. These techniques included printing with objects, collagraph printing with stampers, relief printing using stampers, polystyrene and felt tip printing, leaf rubbings, and mono printing with layered inks. Both campuses' halls displayed the children's artwork, from their own creations to those of their friends, classes, year groups, and the entire school community. Parents who attended surely enjoyed admiring their children's work. Without a doubt, the masterpieces looked fabulous!

  • Year 4 Caldecotte Xperience Trip

    Fri 31 Mar 2023

Wow, what a fantastic last two days of the Spring 2 term for Year 4.  The children and staff arrived at the Caldecotte Xperience on Thursday, 30 March, and went straight into activities. There were groups creating rafts, canoeing, team building, and rock climbing. Even Mrs Snow got in on the action on the climbing wall. The children were certainly ready for the yummy BBQ and ice cream the team prepared for them.   We were very thankful the rain held off, even enjoying some lovely sunshine on Thursday afternoon.  Well done to all of our Year 4 for an amazing residential trip and for representing Oxley Park Academy in a FAB way!

  • Year 5 Singing Showcase

    Wed 01 Mar 2023

A massive thank you to all our wonderful families who came and watched the Year 5 Singing Showcase yesterday. The children have worked so hard over the past few weeks to learn 11 songs including some very tricky verses and we are incredibly proud of them as I am sure you are. They have represented the school in such a positive way and we hope we have encouraged a new generation of singing superstars! Last night once again proved how fortunate we are at Oxley Park Academy.
