FAB-U-Lous Friday

FAB-U-Lous Friday happens every other week across the academy.   It is a day full of celebration, excitement and rewarding our wonderful Oxley Parkers.   The day ends with a live stream FAB Shout-Out to all the classes, announcing all our lucky winners and sharing their great achievements.   See below for all the wonderful ways in which we reward children in our school.

'FAB-tastic stamps' are a reward for FAB (Fussy and Bothered) presentation and effort in our books. Teachers choose a child every other Friday to come and share their wonderful learning with a member of the senior team, and the senior member of staff then stamps their book with the FAB-tastic stamp! The child gets a 'credit card'-style reward to bring home and share with their family.

The Principal’s Golden Ticket! Golden Ticket winners are chosen by the class teachers every two weeks. They are awarded for FAB learning or FAB following of our 6C values. Actual Golden Tickets are posted to the homes of the children in a golden envelope, so children can get excited to see the post arrive on a Saturday morning! Children are able to have the excitement, celebration and instant fun with their nearest and dearest and you as a parent are able to capture this first-hand. You can then share this with your family and friends, and on our school social media pages.

The Golden Ticket gives the lucky winner the chance to access the ‘Best Seats in the House’ (see next reward for more details).

Children have their in-school celebration the following Friday, during the  FAB Friday Shout-Outs.

Our Golden Ticket winners will have the honour of sitting in ‘The Best Seats in the House’ for a week. Red chairs decorated with golden stars, one for each class, plus fancy stationery and a special work mat await them. This is their special space in the classroom and will ensure that everyone in school knows who the Golden Ticket winner is in each class!

On a FAB-U-Lous Friday afternoon, some lucky children who have done something extra special that week will receive a FAB phone call home from a member of our Senior Team, so please don’t panic too much if you receive a call from school!  It is generally all good, if it comes on a Friday afternoon!  Another lovely end to the week and a reason for families to celebrate at the weekend.

Our HERO attendance award for being Here, Every day, Ready and On time. These are rewarded to the class nearest to 100% attendance on each campus. Children who have authorised absences, will not negatively impact on the overall class attendance figure.

Our House Teams work hard all week collecting House Coins in the hope their House win the House Cup on FAB-U-Lous Friday!   The big announcement will hear roars of excitement across both our campuses and is very much a competition for all including the staff!   A real opportunity of bonding with others from across the school in your House Team.

We are proud of our sporting achievements as an academy, however, our sports coaches regularly see children thrive in their weekly PE lessons. Every FAB-U-Lous Friday, the children who have been chosen as a Sport Star will receive a trophy that they can display in their classroom. They will be celebrated in our virtual FAB Shout-Out Celebrations!

Mr and Mrs Vault, the book vendors, love giving out free books! Children thriving and doing their absolute best in their reading, both at home and at school, will have their name placed into a box. Our Academy Ambassadors will be pulling out names in every street and quad and the winning children get to visit Mr and Mrs Vault and choose a new book which will be theirs to keep!

The Golden Thread, a very special and unique reward.  Nominated by their class teacher and presented by our governors, these termly awards are for children who are going over and above in following the Oxley Promise and our 6C's. Celebrated together in our school hall and an opportunity for children to come down the red carpet!

Every week, children can collect merits on an individual basis for a whole range of reasons.   Building these up to complete their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, they get to visit the Merit Shop.  The shop is full of a range of exciting things they can choose from and keep!

Our Tidy Broom Award! We are so proud of our learning environment and looking after it and keeping it tidy is really important. Our Premises Team choose a street or quad every FAB-U-Lous Friday, for their name to be added to the 'Tidy Broom' broom handle! The streets or quads with the most mentions on the handle at the end of term will receive an extra playtime!

TT Rockstars is loved by many and is helping us improve our times tables. We celebrate everything Rockstars in our FAB-U-Lous Friday Shout out!

A celebration of all of the above rewards!  A special live stream into all class rooms during the afternoon of FAB-U-Lous Friday. A great way of using technology to celebrate everything wonderful about Oxley with all our Oxley Parkers across both our campuses.
