Ofsted

Our latest Ofsted Inspection took place in 2018.  At the time, Oxley Park Academy had a couple of years of change, with extreme overcrowding due to pupil numbers, a brand new campus being built, moving one school into two campuses, launching a new Nursery, whilst having no senior leadership for some of the time.  However, a new and experienced leadership took over and a thorough and detailed plan to move through the major changes was implemented with immediate effect.

Ofsted arrived 6 months into this turnaround and, although they recognised the plan was right and they were highly complimentary of the new vision, we just needed a bit more time!  So back in June 2018 they were only able to give us the rating of 'Requires Improvement'. However, we are due for a re-inspection any time and we are extremely confident of a very strong and positive outcome for our academy. Today, Oxley Park Academy is unrecognisable from June 2018 - the plan has come alive and the outcomes are so much more than we could ever have dreamt of!  Our results have been really strong and were all above average in the most recent statutory assessments of 2019.

In addition, what you get with Oxley Park Academy is an exciting curriculum and wonderful primary journey of education. However, more than this, your child gets a wonderfully unique experience, different from any other primary school around. A learning environment designed solely with children at the heart, two amazing campuses with resources that are second to none (sports pitches, fields, outdoor learning, art studio, STEM centres, the list goes on...!) and a vision that is exciting, modern and holds children centre to any thinking - even if adults think we are mad!

As parents you can be absolutely reassured that our care for your child is of the highest standard.  We absolutely pride ourselves how family-orientated we are, even though we are such a big school. Our Sanctuary provision is unique in supporting your child's wellbeing. We do everything in our power for every single individual child and they feel loved and cared for.

Please, before you judge us on an Ofsted report which took place in a totally different period over 3 years ago, come and see the real thing of how we exist today!  We are special, we are unique and we need to be seen. Words on paper don't do us justice!  You are very welcome indeed at any time to come and visit - just give us a call.  We promise you we will challenge your first impressions from a 3 year old report.

Thank you for giving us the chance to share with you our wonderful academy.

Please note due to Covid-19, Ofsted have delayed all inspections. This means that Oxley Park will not be inspected until at least the latter part of 2021. This gives you more reason to find out about us today and please don't go on this report. It shows the strength of our vision but not what we have become and continue to develop even further!

Testimonials

  • Pupils behave well. They are proud of their school and show high levels of respect, both towards each other and to staff. (Ofsted)
  • My children enjoy attending each day. They find the work challenging and interesting. They really like the teaching staff and feel supported and have grown in confidence.
  • Working at Oxley is so special and unique. Everyone is so kind, well-being is at the forefront and our community are a delight. I love my job! (Teacher)
  • The school missions and values make my son want to be a part of the Academy and try his best. I feel proud that my sons are at Oxley Park and the Nursery and I feel that the changes being made are really positive!
  • The children are oozing with so much more ‘zest’ since the start of this year, which makes us as parents happier and excited about their future at OPA.
  • My children love the school! My eldest was quiet, didn’t want to learn, didn’t enjoy school. Now he is settled, has friends and has started to show improvements. My daughter loves her teachers and is extremely enthusiastic.
