Our FAB Habits!
FAB - Fussy and Bothered
On entering Oxley Park you will regularly see and hear the word FAB! FAB stands for Fussy and Bothered. Our whole culture and ethos is about every one of us being Fussy and Bothered about everything we do; adults and children alike!
We expect every child to be really Fussy and Bothered about their learning and you will see that in the classrooms, in their books and in the way they discuss their learning.
Being FAB is a really good habit to have if you come to Oxley Park and we help promote this with our ‘Fab 5 Habits’.
Habit 1— FAB Attitude
This is our number one habit as we all need a really positive attitude to come to school and do our very best. You will see this in every room and in every corridor with smiling faces and a real urgency to learn.
Habit 2— FAB Manners
We want to see everyone showing great manners so everyone, no matter if they are a child or an adult, feels valued at Oxley Park. We have our 6Cs which form our academy values and, by showing these in everyday life, we are polite and respectful to each other. You will see good manners when you visit us, with people holding doors open, saying please and thank you and a smiley hello!
Habit 3—FAB Presentation
We take great pride in everything we do. We want to feel proud of what we achieve and also impress our audience who come and share our work and enjoy our achievements. You will see gorgeous handwriting, neat and smart work laid out beautifully in our well kept books.
Habit 4—FAB Appearance
We want everyone looking the part and being ready to learn. We are proud of our academy uniform and want every child to feel proud and stand tall when they put it on every morning. Making sure we show we are ready to learn by making sure our shirts are tucked in, our ties are straight and we feel smart and look smart. This also goes for our learning environment. We want the appearance of our academy to be special. We want it to inspire us and our visitors every day. Following this habit makes sure our learning spaces are neat, tidy and ready for learning.
Habit 5—FAB Walking
We want our academy to be a safe place for young and old so ensuring we all walk sensibly around the academy and on the left is a vital habit to have. This ensures both our campuses are calm, relaxed and organised. You will see lots of signs along our academy streets and quads thanking you for FAB walking on the left.
As a truly supportive Oxley family we encourage each other when we spot someone else following any of the FAB 5 Habits.
Come and be FAB with us!
