Life in Our Nursery Village
As soon as your little one steps into our magical village our aim is to provide a broad and balanced learning experience which embraces the seven areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Our Nursery village staff will provide a happy, secure, stimulating and exciting environment for your child to develop and grow.
There will be wondrous opportunities for your little one to make choices which will facilitate independent learning and enable them to feel confident as they grow and dream!
We will encourage our Nursery Villagers to develop the communication, linguistic, investigation and problem solving skills through interaction with adults and other children within our village.
Promoting your child’s imagination in our Nursery Village Dream stage is at the core of everything we do and through play, using stimulating resources and activities indoors and outdoors their minds can be free as they bring to life their dreams of being a firefighter, police person, chef or popstar!
We will develop a partnership with parents and carers based on a shared understanding of the learning needs of the children. Your little one will get the chance to spend quality time indoors and outdoors using our greenhouse, mud kitchen, role play area and much more!
All children are able to access fresh drinking water throughout the session. There will also be an opportunity for your child to have a fruit or vegetable snack whilst at Nursery. This is encouraged as part of our commitment to being a healthy Nursery. A variety of fruits and vegetables are provided at no charge to parents.
Lunchtime in the Bistro
For the little villagers who stay all day they can use the small hall, eating together with their peers and enjoying the Bistro for lunch, which supports their transition when they start school. They are looked after by the caring Nursery village staff and staff from the Reception class.
If your child is staying for lunch club in our Nursery Village they are so lucky! They will get to eat in our Academy
Bistro with their fellow villagers. They can bring a packed lunch from home, or have a delicious hot or cold meal that can be pre booked through the School Gateway app (contact the Academy Office for further instructions on this). Our lunches are available at a price of £2.45, and there is a further charge of £2.50 for the lunch club which is invoiced termly. This cost is not included in the 30 hour provision.
Sharing with families - Tapestry
An excellent partnership with parents and carers is promoted by the use of our online Learning Journal
system, Tapestry, where you will receive observations of your child's learning on a regular basis, an insight into the things they have experienced in the Nursery environment. You can also post Observations of your child's experiences from home, achievements in other pursuits such as; swimming, gymnastics, conquering milestones like riding their bikes. This evidence of your own child's journey and holistic development is vital for them to reach their potential. The Nursery Village staff love seeing the villagers different adventures away from the Village and helps them to support your child's next steps in their progress. We want the very best start for your little ones through the Dream stage in our school.
Nursery Village Times
It is an expectation that children are dropped off promptly at 8.30am for morning start as late arrivals can disrupt group time. This is the same for the afternoon sessions at 12.30pm.
Collections must also be prompt at 11.30am or 15:30pm, depending on your sessions. Children that are not collected on time will incur a late collection charge.
